Punchestown
Racecourse has achieved 15% energy savings within the last year thanks to DCS Energy
Savings phase 1 works.
Background
Due to ever increasing energy prices, Punchestown Racecourse explored the possibilities
of saving energy within their facility at Nass, Co.Kildare.
"Electricity
costs had gone through the roof and we just had to do something about it. We were
unable to find a quick and easy solution to reduce our spiraling energy costs until
we heard about the DCS Energy Savings solution", said Richard Galway, General Manager, Punchestown Racecourse.

Survey
DCS Energy Savings carried out an initial survey on site which revealed the scope
for substantial savings to be achieved through
voltage regulation.
This was confirmed by the installation of a temporary power monitor and an extensive
visual survey of the facility. On completion DCS Energy Savings proposed the supply
and installation of an adequately sized voltage regulator.

To date Punchestown Racecourse has achieved 15% energy savings equating to 12,000 Euros
per annum.

are now working with Punchestown Racecourse on the next phase of energy saving measures",

Plans for the Future
DCS Energy Savings are currently implementing a unique wireless monitoring solution
which allows for the measurement of power consumption, temperature control and water
metering within the Punchestown facility.
This will yield 20% to 30% additional energy savings within
the next 12 months.
